Development Control
for the attention of David Eaves
Horsham District Council
Park House, North Street
Horsham RH12 1RL
Dear Mr Eaves
DC/07/1348 LAND ADJOINING 10 DENNE ROAD, HORSHAM
I write on behalf of the Horsham Society to enter an
objection to this application.
The Society notes that the proposal is for one
2-storey 2-bedroom house with basement on the open
ground adjacent to Hadmans Close and Denne Road.
The Society also notes that the site is in a
Conservation Area and that it formed part of the
application in 1966 by the present applicants for the
present residential development when it was noted
"tree planting" and "grass amenity area".
The Society attaches great importance to the amenity
value of small areas, such as this, in an increasingly
built-up environment. They are particularly valuable
as they frequently provide the only opportunity for
the trees for which there is generally too little
space in the smaller gardens which are increasingly
the norm. They are also valuable, again in this case,
in providing relief from the increase in the growth of
built-up frontages, already evident on the east side
of Denne Road..
Yours sincerely
Oliver Palmer
Vice-President, The Horsham Society
