I am writing on behalf of the Horsham Society to object to this application. The site could not be more sensitive given that it is immediately adjacent to St Mary's Church, the only Grade I Listed Building in the town. The proposed design and materials are completely out of keeping with its surroundings and inappropriate for this location. The incorporation of fan light windows on the Church side of the structure would make it even more prominent when viewed from the Churchyard. Were such a building to be approved it must be substantially screened from the Churchyard year round by appropriate trees and shrubs. John Steele Secretary, Planning Sub Committee
