Comments:

I am writing on behalf of the Horsham Society to object strongly to this application. The loss of amenity green space is not acceptable and would be in contravention of the the Horsham Town Design Statement SPD which states "Grass verges need to be retained and properly maintained" (page 27) and "open spaces should be protected and included in new developments" (page 33). The fact that parking has been allowed to occur on this space is not a justification for formalising it in a way which disregards the intentions of the SPD. Instead it should be protected from incursion by vehicles by the erection of wooden bollards. John Steele Secretary, Planning Sub Committee
