I am writing on behalf of the Horsham Society to draw attention to the sensitive location of this application backing, as it does, on to St Leonards Road which is identified as a Character Area within the Horsham Town Design Statement SPD. The trees subject of the application form an important part of the almost continuous green boundary on the east side of St Leonards visually separating the St Leonards street scene from the newer properties in Hernbrook Drive. The trees also form part of the Horsham Society's proposed Brighton Road / St Leonards Road Conservation Area. We therefore ask that any approval for surgery on the trees ensure that this important feature is not jeopardised.
