West Horsham development
In 2005 Horsham
District Council unexpectedly amended the Local
Development Framework, increasing the allocation of
new housing to the west of the town from 1100 to 2000
units.
This would result in
the coalescence of Horsham and Broadbridge Heath, and
the creation of a complicated road system in which
southbound traffic leaving the town would be sent on a
tortuous route via Broadbridge Heath before joining
the A24 from the west.
The public
consultation period has now expired. A report
about the Society's representation appeared in the
January issue of the Newsletter.
